Gloucestershire County Council Fostering Service
Last year, GCC Fostering Service received over 850 requests for foster homes for Gloucestershire children.
They were able to offer about 60% of these children a home with GCC carers, meaning that (where appropriate) the children were able to stay local to their schools and families.
However, GCC need to recruit more Foster Carers to ensure that more children can stay local and don't have to be placed through private fostering agencies, sometimes in other parts of the country.
